Experienced Walker for My Retired Racing Greyhound in Richmond
Message From The Owner
  • I am an individual near the Olympic Oval in Richmond looking for a very specific type of dog walker for my retired racing Greyhound, Gus.
  • I recently moved to the area, so I'm new to Richmond, and I'm nervous about finding the right fit for him, especially since I'll be working long hours.
  • Gus is a sweet, gentle giant, but he needs someone who understands the sighthound mentality—he has a very strong chase instinct, so he must always be kept on-leash, and the walker needs to be strong enough to handle a sudden burst of speed if he sees a rabbit near the trail.
  • I need 45-minute walks four days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) between 1-3 PM, focusing on quiet, low-traffic areas away from busy intersections.
  • We live in a high-rise apartment, and access is via a FOB, which I will provide; he’s generally very calm, but he needs to be taken down the elevator quickly, so you need to be good with timing.
  • Having your own car is a plus because it would give you the option to drive to a quieter, more remote park outside the immediate City Centre area if the weather is nice, though the immediate neighborhood is fine.
  • We are also asking that you must be legally allowed to work in Canada for this task.
  • Allow extra time for parking, this is Richmond we're talking about, especially near the waterfront, as visitor spots are nonexistent, and the street parking is always full.
  • Thanks so much! Can't wait to hear from you!
