Weekend Pet-Sitting Backup Needed for Growing Richmond Business
Message From The Owner
- We are a small, but quickly expanding, pet care business here in Richmond, and we are totally overwhelmed with the volume of weekend and holiday bookings, which is a great problem to have, but we need backup!
- We are looking for an experienced individual to cover drop-in visits for cats and small animals (no dogs for this initial role) primarily in the Central Richmond and Brighouse neighborhoods every Saturday and Sunday for a few hours.
- This usually involves 4-6 separate 30-minute visits per day, mainly for feeding, refreshing water, and a bit of playtime, as well as sending us a quick photo update after each visit to forward to the clients.
- We need someone who is already very reliable with their transportation because you'll be driving between different townhomes and condo buildings, and we want to keep things running smoothly for our clients.
- Since this is backup work, you might sometimes only get 24-48 hours' notice for a job, but we're also planning ahead for the busy holiday season, so we'll be booking those visits much earlier.
- Our standard expectation is five-star care and absolute professionalism.
- We provide all the necessary client notes and access codes for each job; we also insist on someone who prioritizes safe and secure access to our clients' homes, which often involves using lockboxes or complex FOB systems in the newer high-rise buildings downtown.
- You'll need to use our standard client check-in sheets to document food intake and litter box status for each cat.
- We can provide you with a company uniform shirt to wear to help look more professional on the job, if you like.
- We’re looking for more clients right now, so if this works well, there’s a strong chance this could turn into a permanent part-time role as our business grows.
- We prefer to communicate via email for all scheduling and client updates as it helps us keep detailed records for tax purposes.
- We are willing to negotiate on price for candidates with exceptional availability and a lot of experience managing multiple visits in a tight schedule.
