- I'm an individual who just started a new job downtown, and I'm honestly feeling a little stressed about securing reliable, consistent daytime babysitting for my two kids here in Ottawa.
- They are 4 and 6, and because the school schedules don't perfectly align with my long commute and new work hours, I need someone fantastic to cover a few hours of coverage each day, usually from about 2:30 PM until 5:30 PM.
- This job is a huge opportunity for me, so finding someone I can trust completely is the most important thing, especially because the weather can be so unpredictable in Ottawa with those sudden heavy snowfalls, making transit delays a real concern.
- The scope of work involves picking up the 4-year-old from his nearby pre-school (a quick 5-minute walk) and getting the 6-year-old off the school bus at our townhouse complex, then supervising them until I get home.
- You'd be responsible for making sure they have a healthy snack, helping the older one with a little reading practice, and mostly just making sure they are safe and entertained – maybe a quick run outside if the weather's cooperating and the sidewalks are clear.
- We're looking for someone who can commit to Monday to Friday.
- Because I'm a first-timer using this platform, I'm happy to chat about rates; my initial budget is $20-$25/hour, but the rate is negotiable depending on experience and if you could help with light meal prep on occasion.
- Assist with homework/reading for the 6-year-old
- Supervise outdoor play (weather permitting, avoiding the ice of course!)
- Prepare simple, healthy snacks
