I am an experienced user of this platform, but my regular sitter just moved away from Ottawa to be closer to family, which has left us in a bind for weekend care.
We have two amazing kids, a three-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy, who need someone fun and reliable to watch them on Saturday evenings, usually from 5:00 PM until around 10:00 PM.
The main scope of work involves prepping and serving a simple dinner (we’ll leave instructions and all the ingredients ready), engaging them in some creative play like drawing or building forts, and getting them ready for bed by reading a story or two.
We live in a townhouse near the Glebe, and access is pretty straightforward with a key code, but please note that we do have two flights of stairs up to the main living area.
I’m hoping to find someone who can commit to most weekends because the kids really thrive on consistency, and we’d like to start as soon as possible, maybe even this coming weekend!
Our neighborhood is lovely, but street parking can be a real challenge, especially on a Saturday evening when people are out, so I’d appreciate it if you factor that into your travel time.
We are also pretty big on screen-free time, so all activities must be interactive and engaging, not just putting on a movie, lol.
I’m really open to discussing rates and finding a good fit, as budget is flexible for the right person who connects well with our children and their routine.
The right person would also be comfortable dealing with the typically unpredictable Ottawa weather, which means having a backup indoor activity ready if a planned park trip gets rained out!
I prefer to communicate via email after the initial contact on this platform, as I check that more often during the day when I'm at work.
