We are an experienced user of house-sitting services, but our regular sitter started a new full-time job and can't help us anymore, so we are back on the hunt!
Water the small herb garden in the kitchen (just three pots).
Ensure all garbage bins are brought back from the curb after collection day.
Sweep the front walkway to remove leaves.
We need someone to stay at our home in Central Richmond for a long weekend (Thursday evening to Monday morning) every month for the next three months, and possibly longer.
This is a large, two-story detached house with a small yard, and you'd be looking after our one very lazy but sweet cat, Mittens.
She mostly just sleeps, but she needs playtime for at least 30 minutes a day and her food dispensed from an automatic feeder that needs refilling every few days.
The rate is negotiable depending on experience, especially if you have verifiable references from other pet sits.
The main duties include ensuring the cat is happy and healthy, collecting the mail from the community mailbox, and tidying up after yourself completely before we return.
We also need all packages brought in immediately from the porch so they aren't damaged by the consistent Richmond rain.
Communication is important to us; we would need one photo update a day via text or email just to know Mittens is doing well.
I prefer to communicate via email for all the detailed logistics and scheduling once we agree to the job.
We have a car and can travel 15-20 miles to drop off the house keys and walk you through the house rules beforehand, so please confirm your availability for a walk-through.
Change the cat’s water fountain filter once during the stay.
