Long-Term House Sitter for Heritage Home near Downtown Edmonton

We are looking for a reliable, friendly individual to house-sit our large, beautiful heritage home in the Westmount neighborhood of Edmonton for a period of two months starting in the spring.

My partner and I are taking a long sabbatical and are looking for someone responsible to keep our home looking lived-in and cared for while we are gone; we don't have pets, just a lot of history in the house.

This is a great opportunity for someone who needs temporary, stable accommodation in a really lovely part of the city.

We also offer a flexible budget and we can negotiate the price depending on your experience and availability.

Your main responsibilities will be maintaining the appearance of the property and providing basic security.

This includes mowing the small front lawn once a week (we have a push mower)

and watering the flower beds in the back yard every two days if it hasn't rained.

You must also regularly check the furnace and water heater in the basement to make sure everything is running smoothly, as this is an older home and sometimes needs a quick check.

We need you to forward any important mail to our email address once a week

and the biggest thing is just making sure the place is generally clean when we get back.

* Run all the taps and flush the toilets once a week to prevent stagnant water.

* Take out the garbage and recycling on the specific designated days for this area of Edmonton.

I am an experienced user of this platform, but I use transit but very reliable, so I am looking for someone who can easily access this area.
