Need a House Sitter While We Move into Our New Richmond Home

I need help with a short-term, but very important, house-sitting job in Richmond because my family and I are in a weird situation.

We just bought a new house, but we have a one-week gap between closing on the old place and getting the keys to the new one, and we need someone to stay in the old house for those seven nights.

This is for security, to make sure nothing gets damaged or stolen during the final moving process, and to manage the final utility shut-offs and key handovers to the new owners' agent.

You don't need to do any actual moving, but you'll be staying in a house that is mostly empty, so please keep that in mind.

The old house is in the Cambie area, a big two-story with a fenced yard.

The tasks are really simple:

Turn the exterior lights on at dusk and off at dawn.

Ensure the final few boxes we leave behind are stacked neatly in the garage.

Be available on the last morning to hand over the keys and garage opener to the real estate agent at a set time.

You also need to keep the heating set to a minimum level so the pipes don't freeze, especially if we get one of those sudden cold snaps that Richmond is known for in the winter.

We need someone to start next Sunday evening and stay until the following Sunday morning.

It’s an easy gig for a week of free room and board.
