I just recently moved to Ottawa for a new job and I still have about 40 medium-sized moving boxes of books and files that need to be taken from my third-floor walk-up apartment (no elevator, lol) and brought down to a rental storage locker about a 15-minute drive away.
This job is heavy, but it's a one-time thing, and I'd like to get it done this coming weekend, either Saturday or Sunday morning, for about 3-4 hours of work.
I’m nervous because I really don't want to hurt my back!
I need someone who is strong and capable of navigating narrow stairwells with these boxes, but I will be there to help guide you and hold doors open, so you won't be alone.
New immigrants to Ottawa are welcome to apply, and English doesn't need to be perfect for this work; the main job is just muscle and careful handling of the boxes.
We prefer someone who lives nearby, within 20-30 minutes of the apartment.
I prefer to pay in cash upon completion of the task.
You don't need a car for this task as I will be driving the rental truck to the storage unit, so you’ll be riding with me.
We’ll meet at my apartment, which is near the Queensway.
I can share more info about the specific truck size after we discuss the basics.
Please include a CV or resume in your offer.
